Pochade Box:
Outdoor easel such as Open Box M, French Easel, EasyL, Soltek, Guerrilla Box, etc. and sufficient knowledge on how to set it up.

Paint:
Any Quality brand will work. Please do not bring student grade paint (such as Winton)  I use Utrecht's and Winsor Newton

         Cad red light             Utrecht’s
         Alizarin                     Utrecht’s  (only need small tube)
         Cad yellow light       Utrecht’s (any other brand get Cad Yellow  Medium)  
         Cad Lemon               Winsor Newton
         Ultramarine blue       Utrecht
         Cobalt                       Winsor Newton
         Umber                       Utrecht’s
         Burnt Sienna             Winsor Newton
         Titanium white          M Graham Alkyd Quick Dry

 

Brushes:
I use Bristol Flat # 2 – 4 & 6 for plein air depending on the size canvas. 
Chip brushes from Lowe's or Home Depot (the cheap throw away china bristles, buy 1 inch size)

Canvases:
10 cheap 6x8 or 5x7 canvas panels for exercises, 
5 more 9x12 up to 12x16 canvas panels for location paintings.

Mineral spirits, I use Gamsol
Palette knife
Tin clip on cups
Brush cleaner: Holbein makes a really good smaller one or use a tin can
Small sketch pad and pencil
View finder
Paper towels
Plastic shopping bags for trash

Hat
Suntan lotion
Water
Bug spray
Wet canvas carrier

Anything else you usually take with you outdoors to paint, but try to keep your load small. Too much gear gets heavy...

Bring a completed painting from home for an opening critique.
